Captain Tsubasa is based on the anime named Captain Tsubasa. The main character Tsubasa Ozora plays for Nankatsu Team in the game and also the part of OVA Shin Captain Tsubasa that takes place in the World Cup Sub-16 Championship. The gameplay is based on menu system that allows the player to give commands for their Teammates in some specific situation. The player is only able to control the captain of the team. Some characters have specific moves which is purely taken from the Anime Capain Tsubasa. The animation on the story mode feels like anime and the player is somehow controlling the story itself. Also the new customization mode allows the player to create their own Captain Player and play the story mode to gain levels and specific habits.
